Last year Reds Community Fund Executive Director Charley Frank and Reds Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini expressed their desire and hopes to make the Opening Day Block Party a new Opening Day tradition. The event drew an estimated 5,000 continuous attendees onto the intersection of Joe Nuxhall Way and Freedom Way just outside the Reds HOF and Museum.
Year 2 is now upon us and well… the tradition is well on its way. With the team’s 2012 success the stakes are high and so is the excitement.
Again this year festivities will start at 11am and go until just before game time. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Budweiser, Coca-Cola, LaRosa’s, Queen City Sausage, UDF and Kahn’s. Admission is free. All proceeds benefit the Reds Community Fund’s P&G MLB Urban Youth Academy.
We’ll be there helping WEBN and Budweiser provide live music from Alias and returning headliner Frankly Speaking.
Come join us for another fantastic Opening Day event!
